Multiple Sclerosis...
Multiple Sclerosis is a poorly understood autoimmune disease that attacks the central nervous, demyelinates the neurons, and presents as a grab bag of symptoms throughout the body. And, what is often overlooked, it can and does cause problems with the mind -- memory, cognition, sensation. It is seldom fatal, but does shorten the expected life span. It can be treated, but not cured.
I was diagnosed in 2002. At times I have thought the medication was worse than the disease itself. There is no cure. |
